From Hazel Moon Botanicals "This botanically based insect repellent has been formulated to repel mosquitoes, biting flies, and ticks.
Directions: Apply to areas commonly exposed to biting insects, such as behind ears, back of knees, and ankles. For best results, reapply every 2-3 hours.
For External Use Only. Avoid spraying in eyes. Do not apply directly to skin on children under 2 years of age. Discontinue use if skin becomes irritated. Consult a physician if nursing or pregnant. Not for use on dogs or cats.
Marie formulated this bug spray for her family because of a severe skin reaction her toddler had to popular synthetic insect repellents. This formula was developed with information from more than two dozen research studies. The selected essential oils show evidence of repellent effects against ticks, mosquitoes and biting flies.
Many other natural bug repellents contain essential oils that are not recommended for use with children under age 10, such as clove bud oil, peppermint, wintergreen, rosemary and others.
Our bug spray has been formulated for use on the skin age 2 years+.
No insect repellent will work against all insects 100% of the time. We recommend doing daily tick checks, and remove any attached ticks using a tick key or tweezers.
Active Ingredients: Geranium, Citronella, Cedarwood, Spearmint, Lemongrass. Other Ingredients: Organic Witch Hazel, Isopropyl Alcohol, Essential Oil blend [Lemon eucalyptus, Lavender, Alaskan cypress].
How to Use Repellents Safely
All repellents, even natural products, can cause side effects, especially if you apply too much of it or too often. For example, they can all cause rashes and skin irritation. In addition, some sythetic products might cause disorientation, localized numbness, and damage to plastics, particularly in concentrations higher than 30 percent.
Use all insect repellents with care.
Apply just enough to cover exposed skin, and only for as long as needed.
Don’t use it on wounds, cuts, or broken or irritated skin.
Never put it on under your clothes.
For your face, spray it on your palms first, then rub it in, avoiding your eyes and mouth, and using sparingly around ears.
Adults should put it on children, since children often put their hands in their eyes and mouths.
Don’t use near food, and wash hands after application and before eating or drinking.
At the end of the day, wash treated skin with soap and water, and wash treated clothing in a separate wash before wearing again.
Wash repellent off your skin and launder treated clothes.
